My Winter Break: 14 Trails in 2 Weeks (14)

During the winter break of 2020, my family and I plan to go to 14 trails in 2 weeks, allowing one trail per day.

Today is the last day! I have mixed feelings about saying good-bye to my trail blogs. I feel happy that I don't have to walk for a long period of time every day, but I enjoyed spending valuable time with my family.

Today's trail was the Pirate, Mariposa, Flying Mane, and the Fossil Trail. We started off with the Pirate trail, which was very tiring because it was just uphill all the way. The Pirate Trail became the Mariposa Trail, and it had a downhill descent to the Flying Mane Trail. On the Mariposa trail, I heard a sweet, running noise. There was water nearby! I soon discovered (as I was writing this) that this is the Mariposa Canyon Creek. I wouldn't drink the water, as it looked brown and all the trees were touching the water. We continued out and took some beautiful pictures at the junction of Mariposa and Flying Mane.

Flying Mane was similar to the Mariposa Trail, it had a downhill slope to the Fossil Trail.

After we finished Fossil Trail, we headed back onto Forrestal Drive back to the parking lot. It was a long and enduring journey through lush greens. In fact, this is the trail with the most greenery. Most of the other trails had dead mustard, which is a big fire hazard. Thank you for finishing the journey for me and my family! Have a happy 2021!
